Lunch was so yummy and in large amounts for everyone to walk away satisfied. His knowledge was poignant and just the right amount of instruction as well as letting us experience all the elements of the day with all of our senses. His warmth and energy naturally placed us all at ease and in his trusting hands. Our tour guide, Oto, was INCREDIBLE! I never felt rushed, but always at ease. One word to sum up the sweat lodge, the underground caverns, lunch, and even the tequila tasting: Spectacular! It was so special to walk this path at the end of the year, as a way to release the old and outdated ways of thinking, doing, and being and to effectively step into the new year, with a fresh outlook. There is so much I can share but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. I didn’t want to leave the lodge because I was so happy and in my zone. My favorite activity was the sweat lodge with the shaman.

Images of the Stations of the Cross were around the walls of the Chapel.Ī few minutes here was a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets outside. The altar stands underneath the impressive red bricked domed area of the Chapel.Ĭlimbing plants were growing around the walls of the altar area and dangling from the domed ceiling. A sizeable crucifix hangs from the top of the window behind the simple altar table. The ceiling above the aisle is lined with wooden beams.Ī large arched window at the back of the Chapel overlooks the palm trees outside and faces the sea. Two rows of simple dark wooden benches form a tiled aisle that leads up to the altar at the back of the Chapel. Worshipers and visitors walk under the arch along the small pathway to the arched glass and wooden entrance door.Īnother noticeable feature is the domed section at the rear of the Chapel, topped with a small metal cross, it is more impressive inside. The most striking feature of the Chapel is the tall whitewashed entrance structure containing three bells. It is located along the beachfront near to the ferry terminal and jetty. Back in March 2022 we visited here but it was shut, thankfully on this occasion it was open so we could go inside. Sunday 8th of October and we visited this this delightful little Chapel. The show is really good-but it makes for a really, really long day. The kids loved finding them and taking crazy pictures. You can scan your wristband on something like 60 cameras placed throughout the park and they load into your online account. Xcaret and Xelha have the park phot package. The picture packages for the dolphins are ridiculously priced. You will get some pictures and videos, but it will be from a distance and not directly facing you. If some in your party aren’t swimming with the dolphins, there is a viewing area. We chose to do the dolphin experience-which was spectacular. Regarding Xcaret, we stayed at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. Mangroves float, ziplines, ropes courses, huge water slides and crazy bridge, etc. Animals, ruins, cultural exhibits, lazy river, beach, and nighttime spectacular.
